Hillside Animal Sanctuary Urgent Land Appeal

Hillside Animal Sanctuary Urgent Land Appeal

A small area of land has been offered to Hillside Animal Sanctuary to purchase. It is a four-acre meadow, which is situated at the back of the Sanctuary and lies between a 30-acre field where around fifty of its special care horses and ponies graze during the summer and 15 acres of Sanctuary land where their shelters are situated.

For several years now, the landowner has allowed their horses to roam freely across the bottom part of the four acres, providing a vital link for them to gain access from one field to the other to reach their shelters. It would be of great benefit for the horses to keep this thoroughfare in addition to the extra grazing the whole of the four acres would provide.

The landowner has told Hillside Animal Sanctuary that they must now sell, but they are giving Hillside first refusal as they know how important it is to them. They are asking for a reasonable price of £45,000 as small areas of land in this area can often go for much more. This appeal is most urgent because they are concerned that if the land is sold and they are unable to raise the funds to purchase it, the valuable benefits it brings for managing their rescued horses, will be lost.

Unfortunately, due to the extremely wet winter of 2017/18, followed by last year’s driest ever summer causing the price of hay to escalate, Hillside’s current funds are extremely stretched. It is unlikely that they will be able to purchase this land without calling upon the help of its supporters.

Every £5 donated will provide two square yards of land. You may request a ‘Square Yards of Land’ certificate, which also makes a great gift too.

If you can help Hillside Animal Sanctuary, please donate online at www.hillside.org.uk/land.htm

Alternatively, you can make a donation via bank transfer to Co-op bank with account number: 69668302 and sort code 08-92-99. State LA and your postcode as a reference.

Thank you

Petty Celebrity Vanity Dogg vs Gascoigne – Don’t Forget That Human Souls Are Important

Petty Celebrity Vanity Dogg vs Gascoigne – Don’t Forget That Human Souls Are Important

There are many celebrities who expose themselves through such vanity, gossiping against one another and causing divide and hate. I don’t read the news much, but sometimes the pettiness of today’s news just makes me want to speak about its vanity.

Snoop Dogg likes to smoke marijuana (which isn’t anything to bragg about, in my opinion as it’s an addictive substance), and said that Paul Gascoigne’s looks had been ruined by alcohol addiction, which is a difficult substance to quit.

Looks fade, Snoop. Skin sags, age creeps up on everyone. If you are not aging as fast as some people, thank the good Lord instead of mocking others. Paul Gascoigne should not have barked back.

What matters is the heart, and it is the heart that God looks at, not external appearance. The world’s philosophy, unfortunately, has it all wrong.

But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart – 1 Samuel 16:7

Souls matter to God. Souls matter to Satan. He has deceived most of the world. He hates God.

At the end of the day, when petty celebrity spats create today’s gossip amongst humankind, what will it matter in eternity? Souls matter right now at this moment, while there is still time. The reason why vain celebrity gossip like this exists is down to sin. It exists in us all.

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our LordRomans 6:23

People need to hear the good news of Jesus Christ and the amazing gift of eternal life that He has for each of us through simple belief.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God1 John 5:13

In Utter Awe at the Sight of a Spider’s Web

I’m in utter awe at the sight of a spider’s web.

I think, as humans, we sometimes forget the beauty of nature and its wonders like the hard work of a spider’s web. All I can do is be in awe of our Heavenly Creator who gives us such amazing beauty, like the gorgeous rainbow that I felt was a ten second sight just for me last Thursday evening. I wish I had taken a picture.

What’s The First Word That Comes to Mind When You See Someone Dropping Litter?

What’s The First Word That Comes to Mind When You See Someone Dropping Litter?

What’s the first word that comes to mind when you see someone dropping litter? Last week, my partner and I saw a couple of kids dropping an empty crisp packet, as they were walking. Today, I saw a group of young kids aged about ten to twelve drop a can, which was then kicked repeatedly and then kicked into the road, only to be run over by a car. They laughed along the way, as I looked at them in disgust.

It’s nothing new, but the first word that came to mind was DISGUSTING.

These are kids. Perhaps they spit in the road, but would they spit in their own bedroom? What has happened to society? Why is there no respect for the environment and keeping Britain tidy, full stop?

I’m so grateful that my parents taught me manners, because we’d probably get a two fingers up for speaking out.

Sometimes I wish I was a secret copper in disguise. I’d get all these people who use their mobile phone at the wheel,  and I’d confiscate children’s gadgets unless they pick up the litter they have dropped. However, I’m probably the one who would get arrested, because we’ve living in a society today where parents are judged for even disciplining their kids. However, dropping litter is lazy and disrespectful to those who do respect our towns and cities, and use litter bins.

Give Blood and Burn Over 500 Calories

Give Blood and Burn Over 500 Calories

We learn something new every day, and today as I was giving blood the nurse told me that I had burnt 650 calories donating a pint of blood.

“No way” I exclaimed. “That’s fantastic. Well I never knew.”

Already burnt off half of my full english breakfast this morning.

Can only donate every few months so it’s hardly an easy weight loss program, but hey, I never knew that you could burn such substantial calories by blood donation. How interesting.

Taste Good Enough to Eat With Crazy Rumor Lip Balms

Taste Good Enough to Eat With Crazy Rumor Lip Balms

I’ve been a mad fan of Crazy Rumor lip balms for many years, and unfortunately haven’t managed to try all the flavours. The Raspberry Sherbet* and Banana Split* flavours are two of my favourites. My partner loves the Cola lip balm.

They contain quality ingredients and stevia flavourings, and they are so damn moisturising. I used to buy direct from the manufacturer, until their shipping prices became ridiculous.

Would You Prefer Human Competition or Human Equality?

Would You Prefer Human Competition or Human Equality?

There is so much money in this world, and yet so much poverty and injustice exists. I know that the problem is sin, but I’m a bit of a dreamer anywhere, so here goes.

Would you prefer human competition where we strive to be the best single human being and achieve power and fame, or human equality where everyone is paid the same, everyone is grateful, there is joy and peace and no more competition?

I choose human equality.

What if Racism Stems From Brainwashing in the Family

What if Racism Stems From Brainwashing in the Family

Have you ever experienced racism? Racism is intolerable and cruel, and so unnecessary amongst humankind, but I believe that racism stems from family brainwashing, or even religion.

For example, I was a quiet kid at school. In year eight I wanted to kill myself because I was tired of the constant bullying. Why was I bullied? Because I never talked. I was a curious kid and just listened. I guess I was in a world of my own. I wanted to fit in, and yet I had no real friends of my own. My sister was my best friend, although we argued and nipped one another, on occasions.

The Asian boys were especially hurtful in what they used to say to me. They would call me a pig. I never said anything in return. I knew it was brainwashing from others. My first boyfriend was Bengali, so I wasn’t racist and haven’t ever judged anyone else on skin colour. It is petty and weak. There is enough suffering in this world without a need for hating others because of their skin colour. Send kind thoughts instead. LOVE. It’s far more healing.

Get Healthy Soft Skin With Naissance Organic Shea Butter

Get Healthy Soft Skin With Naissance Organic Shea Butter

Naissance Organic Shea Butter is a wonderful versatile product for adults and children. When a small amount is applied to the face, as it is very concentrated, it leaves skin with an immediate healthy glow. Immediate results it gives because it boosts blood flow. Great to use at night for super soft skin in the morning. Dab a small amount under the eyes as an anti-wrinkle treatment.

Naissance organic shea butter is also great on scars, dry skin, and an instant moisture treatment. It leaves skin nourished and baby soft.

Because shea butter increases blood flow to the skin, it is an effective treatment for cellulite. Apply to the thighs and buttocks thoroughly. It’s also a great butter to apply to dry lips. As an overnight hair conditioner, apply onto the hair and wash out the following day.

Great for hair, nails, skin, lips, body, under eyes, dry skin, marks and scars. Prices start from £7.99 for a 250g tub. Naissance organic shea butter whip their shea butter, so it’s super quick and simple to apply to skin. Shea butter has got to be the cheapest anti-aging balm for the face, neck, and under eyes, and it’s non-comedogenic too, so it does not block pores.

I’ve been using shea butter for many years and I get a lot of compliments on my skin, as I stopped wearing foundation about ten years ago. I’m 38 and sometimes I even get asked for ID when I buy alcohol 🙂 I wish I was an ambassador for wonderful natural products like organic shea butter so that these ridiculously priced beauty brands selling skincare for £100s of pounds would go bust. I know that might sound nasty, but who has got the money today to spend £100s per month on skincare? Seriously! I can’t even afford a pension.

The Precious Holding of Human Tears

The Precious Holding of Human Tears

In the Psalms 56:8 in the Holy Bible, David speaks of God putting his tears in a bottle.

Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book? – Psalms 56:8

No doubt about it, tears are precious to God. Even in Isaiah 38:5, because of tears 15 years was added unto Hezekiah’s life.

Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years – Isaiah 38:5

Do not underestimate the power of tears. Tears are precious to the Lord God, and if David’s tears were put into a bottle, just imagine what power those tears have in God’s mercy toward us even here today.
